A Staple In My Routine

The way people write reviews seems either way too dramatic or not sincere enough. If I can help at least 1 person make a solid decision, this review is worth it. I have been using this serum for a couple years. I have remarked many times at how insanely effective it is at making my skin glow. But not just glow, it reduced my discolorations and evened out my complexion. It does not have the most pleasant smell, but neither does is smell awful or anything resembling fish. It smells like a vitamin C compound and in a serum of this price point, I am paying for the QUALITY of the product, not the scent. I’m looking for results, not to bask every morning in a bath and body works store front. I recommend keeping the serum cold. A mini fridge or your regular fridge will work, it will help to maintain product efficacy. It is also not for those with extremely sensitive skin. This is a powerful vitamin C. If you have sensitive skin, I recommend finding a gentler product until your skin adapts to something this strong. However, if you are on the fence, I really do recommend giving it a try. I switched several months back and gave the Sunday Riley vitamin C serum at the recommendation of an employee, and I regretted it immensely. Not only was it more expensive, my skin started looking NOTICEABLY duller within just a few days. I finished the product but only because it was so pricey. I immediately switched back to this drunk elephant vitamin c serum. It really is top notch. It won’t work for everyone, but coming on here to throw 1 star reviews because it doesn’t smell like perfumes or because you’re skin is sensitive and it was too aggressive on your face is insulting to a brand that actually created an incredible product for people who can handle it. I am also NOT being paid or influenced to write this review in any capacity. This is an honest review.

A hard NO

I am someone who uses products until they’re gone in order to give them a fair chance even if I initially don’t like them, but this… The smell is so awful. Not sure I can do it! Also, the texture is sticky and soapy on my skin, not like other serums I have used previously. Just a NO for me.

Lightens dark spots & evens out complexion

I've gone through countless Drunk Elephant C-Firma Vitamin C serums and am a superfan of this product. I feel it's been lightening my dark spots and evening my complexion for a clear and more radiant look. Their main ingredient, L-ascorbic acid, is the most stable form of vitamin c. I like how they've revamped their product where I can now mix the powder with their solution to make the freshest vitamin c serum. This is genius because the product doesn't oxidize on the shelf while waiting to be purchased.

awful scent and very watery

I liked the idea that you can mix it before you use it, but this is SO stinky. it smells awful - chemically and really really watery. I regret spending so much on this when I like their other products. I tried mixing it with the other serums but this is overpowering. major fail on this product.

Not good for sensitive skin at all!

If you have sensitive skin stay far away from this one. My cheeks and area under my eyes are so sore, burning and red after using this product so now i'm trying to help my skin recover. Big pass for me, returned immediately.

the smell really caught me off guard. i almost returned it but decided id just try it. i actually love it now and its the best vitamin c ive tried.

Can’t live without!

I have been using this for a few years now, and I can’t go a day without it! Leaves my skin hydrated with a nice glow. Saw improvements immediately in the brightness of my skin

Formula needs work; Not for sensitive skin

I appreciate that the product is packaged to mix after purchase, but the consistency of the formula makes it difficult to spread the recommended one pump across your entire face before drying. It was also very irritating to my skin, but I'm finding that to be the case more and more as I get older. For the price especially, I expected better. I'd probably give it three stars if not for the cost. I did return it to the store and purchased another brand with a different form of Vitamin C. This one isn't for me.

Must have!

Absolutely amazing. Gotta use it for a couple months to notice any improvement though. It's soothed my rosacea and acne and my skin has never looked better. I use it once, at night and top it with retional.

Unpleasant scent

I wish I had read the reviews before I purchased this in the store. I have not had a hot dog cooked in water in decades but that is exactly what this smells like to me. I have only used it once but the smell is so off-putting that I will be returning it.

Put this on my man and he said “your hands smell like smoked ham”. lol! Can confirm it smells like hot dog water. The smell & stickiness doesn’t bother me as long as it works (still tbd). But it is poor timing that I got this to use in the summer. My skin is already sticky from the humidity. This with sunscreen is quite awful on a hot day. Great packaging though. Overall, I’d buy a different vit-c serum after finishing this one.

Not For Me

Didn’t love it. Has all the right ingredients recommended by derma but the tacky feel on my skin was not something I can handle everyday.
